Da Es Yichudecha teaches us how we can reach our essence which is our true self. It is a sefer which is an actual manual and guide to navigating through the various parts of your soul. It requires contemplation.
The author states that the purpose of this sefer is to explain how to know and cling to our Creator (which is the purpose of our life) by knowing our soul. The knowledge of our soul is vast and complicated. We must try to know what our soul is as much as possible.
The first six chapters are an introduction to “understanding our inner world”. The author shows us how we can reach our actual essence, which is essentially the art of menuchas hanefesh. It is explained how we can learn to detach from the outer layers of our soul, “wearing” and “removing” our soul layers at times when we have to. By detaching from our soul layers, we are able to reach our very essence (havayah) as we go deeper and deeper into our soul.
Chapters 7 – 11 describe “detaching from your soul faculties”. The author explains the root causes for sadness and how we can actually reach the self; it is essentially the avodah known as “halbashah” and “hafshatah” (“wearing” and “removing” our soul’s abilities).
Da Es Yichudecha is the culmination and climax of the “Da Es” series that included Da Es Atzmecha, Da Es Nafshecha, Da Es Middosecha, Da Es Hargoshosecha and Da Es Machshovosecha and Da Es Datcha and Da Es Havayatcha In previous volumes, the author introduced us to the soul and its abilities, as well as our behavioral traits, our feelings and our thoughts.
The next in the series, Practical Advice with Your Midddos explains how we can work to fix our four basic elements (earth, water, wind and fire) by using the solutions given in this sefer.
